DEBUG CONSOLE FOR MK908

Tx and Rx pads are located on the RAM chips side, and he has connected the green wire to Tx (Going to Rx on TTL debug board), and a yellow wire to Rx (Tx on debug TTL board).

A ground pad is available on the other side of the board.

Since I got a sample for review from Geekbuying, I decided to give a try myself. The pad are quite small, so this may require patience, but it’s perfectly feasible. I wanted to keep the device closed, so I passed the wires through the ventilation holes (enlarging them a bit with a precision screwdriver), put back the main heatsink on RK3188, and reassembled the enclosure. I did not include the thin heatsink on the other side of the board. Finally, I inserted a 3-pin right angle header in the casing, solder the wires, and connected a USB to TTL debug board.

As you can see the list is quite long and all is installed in few clicks, otherwise you would spend tons of time doing it manually.

DROIDTV LIVE! REVIEW
I was kindly given the opportunity to test a new android tv box.
 
The DroidTV Live! is equipped with a quad core Cortex-A9 1.4GHz processor, and 2GB’s of DDR3. This makes it a very snappy box that response quickly to remote commands, and opens applications very quickly. The box is equipped with wifi, and ethernet. Both of which worked very well for me, and allowed me to stream HD content from both my NAS, and online while using XBMC. HD content played without any picture stutter, and I was able to get the box to pass through AC3, and DTS digital sound over a HDMI connection while using XBMC.  The box comes preloaded with Android 4.2, and there are a few different firmware options available from different sources online that can be flashed to the box. The flashing process is simple enough to do, as long as the directions are followed properly. I had no problem flashing the box several different times. This Android box also has a 2MP camera built in. I found the cameras picture quality left a little to be desired when there wasn’t enough lighting in the room. But I guess this could be said with most web cams. In conclusion, I would say that this is a very capable Android based box. Once you have decided on one of the available firmware’s for the box and get it set up the way you like, I suspect that one would find the box to be an enjoyable Android experience. As well as a very good XBMC home entertainment solution, which is where the DroidTV Live! excels for me!
